Station Points

2018, with Samantha Gebb

Large parts of East Oakland are threatened by the combined forces of sea level rise and groundwater rise. Station Points is a scaleable intervention to replace vulnerable streets in East Oakland with a network of canals. We identified three hydrological patterns relevant to our projet: the steady growth of sea level rise,, semidiurnal tides, and the annual cycle of groundwater rise. Each pattern is embedded in the streetscape through hardscape.
